Check the receiving method first
Wise's current help page for hryvnia transfers specifies the IBAN of a Ukrainian bank account. Personal cards, junior cards and business accounts are listed as unsupported options. The old promise of sending hryvnias to any card therefore cannot be used.
Wise also states that sending from hryvnias is currently unavailable. An incoming transfer to Ukraine and an outgoing transfer from Ukraine are different services.
What to prepare
Ask the recipient to copy the required account details from their banking app. Do not replace the IBAN with a card number or guess the transliteration of their name. The recipient's address may also be required.
- Select your country and payment currency.
- Enter the amount and the receiving method offered by Wise.
- Check the fee, total and delivery time before confirming.
- After payment, track the status in Wise rather than relying solely on your card being debited.
How to assess the result
Compare Wise with other services for the same total debit. Separately check whether the selected payment includes a bank fee and whether the recipient will need an additional currency exchange.
Currency balances, account details and the Wise card may depend on the country of residence. Having an account does not mean every product is available. For a specific transfer, rely on the options in the form and the rules for your profile's country.
