Paysend: cards, exchange rates and international transfer fees

Why Visa, Mastercard, the payment method and Paysend's standard terms must be distinguished.

Compare the specific transfer type

Choosing a country is not enough for Paysend. Specify the receiving method, card network and crediting currency. A card transfer and a transfer using bank details may have different terms.

Paysend recommends checking the exact fee after selecting the sending and receiving countries on its website or in its app. A single fixed fee from the old article is therefore not a tariff for every route.

The payment card and the recipient's card

The card being charged and the card receiving the money have different roles. Support for Mastercard payments does not prove support for every receiving currency on the recipient's Mastercard.

  • Choose an available payment method and review its fee.
  • Check that Paysend shows the receiving currency you expect.
  • Compare the total debit, not just the line labelled 'fee'.
  • Do not substitute a Visa or Mastercard rate for the service's rate without a confirmed exchange process.

If the standard rate differs from the promotional rate

The public website and a customer's account may show different offers. If the standard rate is not disclosed, the calculator may use the known offer with an explanation of the data limitation.

Open the correction, enter the actual rate and fee from the app, and apply your changes. This lets you compare a repeat transfer with other services without assuming that a welcome promotion is always available.
