Sending money to PrivatBank from abroad

Choosing a card, bank details and receiving currency for a PrivatBank transfer.

Card and account transfers are arranged differently

Sending by card number requires the corresponding service channel. For SWIFT, obtain the recipient's bank details. Do not put a card number in an IBAN field or use general bank details instead of the personal account.

PrivatBank provides SWIFT details through Privat24. Select the account that matches the transfer currency and purpose.

Decide the receiving currency in advance

If the recipient wants to keep euros or dollars, check the currency account. If hryvnias are needed, compare direct hryvnia sending with confirmed bank-exchange options.

For other currencies, the process depends on an appropriate account and crediting rules. Do not assume that every foreign-currency transfer converts automatically into hryvnias.

Sending steps

First agree on the card and subsequent use of funds with the recipient. Then choose an offer in the calculator.

  • Copy the details from Privat24.
  • Check the name, currency and receiving channel.
  • Check sending and crediting fees.
  • Confirm the payment with the service.
  • Check receipt before exchanging or withdrawing.

Account for what happens after crediting

Different card products may have different receipt and withdrawal costs. If the final goal is cash, compare the remainder after withdrawal, not merely the amount reaching the card.

When the calculator shows equal receipt at PrivatBank and another bank, these subsequent expenses may determine the choice.
